Kigurumi at Seattle's Sakura-Con
Now that we’ve Navi-gated your attention this way, let’s talk about one of the most wonderful times of the year. The time of year when the Sakura trees blossom, and Sakura-Con, (Seattle) gets awesome! Christine and Amanda started their journey in Boston with a car full of Kigurumis, and eventually made their way across the country to arrive in this beautiful city.
The convention kicked off with a great start! People were herded into the convention hall, ready to geek out, spend all their hard-earned money, show off their cosplaying talents, as well as bust out some sweet dance hooves at our booth! Cosplays ranked from rated G(iraffe), to downright Sharky!!!
There are a large variety of different activities to participate in when it comes to anime conventions. Activities range from meet the artist and voice actor panels, karaoke, cosplay parades, anime raves, gaming (both board and arcade), and of course, paws-ing at our booth so that we can snap a picture of how adorable it is when families cosplay together.
Since the convention was held over Easter weekend, we saw a lot of part-timers out and about looking for a good time. These two even stuck around long enough to share some gir-laughs (even though at this point my jokes were stretching it a little). Their cosplays were definitely spot on though!!
We even had one gentleman ka-zuma through our booth with coffee to keep us on our feet dancing all day.
(Special shout-out for that to Super Cooper-man)
All in all, we had a howl of a good time at Seattle Sakura Con! We almost ran out of punsies, but don’t worry, we’ll be all restocked and ready for some pun at Calgary Comiccon!
That’s the end of our tail in Seattle, we’ll see you soon on the other side of the border, eh?
